INFORMATION LETTER CONCERNING PARTICIPATION IN A STUDY

You have been invited to take part in a study conducted by Klara Kovarski (Sorbonne Université; LaPsyDÉ - Université Paris Cité & CNRS) and Marco Sperduti (Université Paris Cité, Università di Roma Tor Vergata), Louise Kirsch (INCC, Université Paris Cité & CNRS), Julia Ayache (EuroMov DHM, Université de Montpellier) & Dominique Makowski (University of Sussex).
This research has received ethical approval by the Université Paris Cité (IRB: 00012024-124).
This document describes the study in which you are being asked to participate, and answers any questions you may have based on the information currently available before deciding whether or not to take part.
I. Information about the study
What are the objectives of the study?
The study aims at investigating your knowledge and experience with different research practices. With this aim you will be asked to answer different questions.
What are the benefits of your participation in the study? Does the study involve any particular risks?
The present study aims at investigating the knowledge and use of some research practices.
Your participation in this research project will not put you at risk, and we will ensure that each participant is treated with respect and kindness.
How will the study be carried out?
This study consists in an online survey (Limesurvey). It takes around 10 minutes. You will not receive any compensation for the study, nevertheless we will make the data and results available for use.
What are your rights as a research participant?
You are completely free to accept or refuse to take part in this study, without having to justify your decision, and without any consequences for you.
You have the time you consider necessary to make your decision.
If you accept, you may change your mind before the end of the survey. We will consider only complete responses, so any incomplete answer will be deleted. However, if you complete the survey, your responses will be automatically included in the pre-processing phase, as they will be completely anonymous (this will not allow us to delete them).
II/ Information on the processing of your personal data
Does this study involve the processing of your personal data?
Your participation implies the processing of your responses that will be produced as part of this study. No identifying data will be asked during the survey.
The data controller is Université Paris Cité and the data will be stored on a Sorbonne Université server.
What are your rights with regard to your personal data?
You can leave the survey before completing it. However, once completed, your data will be automatically included.
If you have any questions about this research, please contact the principal investigators directly. You will receive a reply as soon as possible, and no later than one month from receipt of your request. Please write “Research practice project 2024” as an email object.

If, after contacting us, you feel that your "Informatique et Libertés" rights have not been respected, you may submit a complaint to the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
How is your personal data managed?
As part of this study, the following information is collected and analyzed:
- Country of workplace
- Gender
- Age
- Parental leave information
- School, academic and professional life (actual position and intention to continue a career)
- Economic and financial information (if you are a permanent or non permanent fellow)
- Data relating to your satisfaction about work
- Data on your work-personal life balance
Transfer of data outside the European Union: Yes (data will be completely anonymous)
To guarantee the security and confidentiality of your data, the following technical and organizational measures have been implemented:
- All data are anonymous.
- Data will be published in the form of an article in a scientific journal, in order to improve research knowledge. Research results may also be presented at professional and scientific conferences. Processed data will be made public in line with Open Science practices.
